I have wanted to get proficient with orgami instructions, but have to be so careful about the books I select, since I have spent a lot of money on books that have arrows- dashes, and squiggly lines that leave me frustrated with a lot of nice paper crumpled up in the trash. This DVD is delightful! AND I can pause it to think and review my folds. I decorated a mini tree at Christmas time for a local fundraising auction and used the high heeled shoes as part of the decoration selection and there was lots of bidding on that tree! I am anxious to do a tree all in earrings so a person could buy it and have their Christmas shopping done in one fell swoop. I love this DVD and would buy another the minute I saw it available.

After seeing a few of Karen's projects on the Carol Duvall show, I hAD to have this DVD. There are so many adorable, easy-to-to projects on here. I'll admit a few of them took a few tries to master, but the projects are broken down easily and of course, you can pause, rewind, slow ect to make it even easier to pick up. I'd had some origami experience but Karen's DVD shows how to use simple folds to create gorgeous gift items, cards and more. Definitely worth every penny.

Even though I would be classified a true beginner in origami, I was able to make several of the projects immediately with Karen Thomas' very clear directions. If you have seen Karen Thomas on T.V. before, then this is just what you need to complete the experience of having her teach you right at home how to do origami!!!The dvd is well done, with great projects, gallery.....well it just has it all! This DVD has been out less than a month and already they are flying off the shelves. There is a reason. Everyone, who is in the slightest bit interested, falls in love with it. This is more than just origami, though that is where it begins, with a bang. These are techniques that have cried out for good video representation.

I took up origami when I quit smoking, it kept my hands busy. Doing a lot more than the basics was very difficult because the type written instructions, even with stripes, shaded areas and arrows on the diagrams, were inadequate to make the things I wanted. It almost frustrated me back to smoking!

This is what I needed. My very own teacher available any and every time I need her. The filming of this DVD focuses on Karen's hands not her hair-do. The lighting is great and her voice does not bounce all over the place like she is standing in an empty house. You see each movement of the paper and Karen explains what she is doing very well as she goes.

There is a terrific gallery and if you are browsing through it and want more information on a piece click on it and you are whisked away to the segment showing the technique used to make it.

If this is not enough be sure to watch the bloopers, coming and already released titles and more. Grab some materials and get started folding.
